Karl Albrecht: Social Intelligence, Jossey-Bass 2006

Useful book on the importance of the relationship dimension in the conduct of a successful life. The author presents what he calls the S.P.A.C.E skills of interaction - situational awareness, presence, authenticity, clarity and empathy. Journalistic in tone, the book does not present original research or original conceptualizations or even references to such but it makes rewarding reading because of its pragmatic, everyday-oriented, change-seeking style. Personally I was somewhat disappointed because of the vast amont of negative examples, as opposed to positive examples demonstrating cases of social intelligence.
