One of strongest books on spirituality I have read in quite some time. In plain and straightfoward, yet warm and compassionate language, Moore depicts a vision of Jesus and of the spirit of the Gospels which is beautiful, uplifting, human and challenging. "Jesus did not come to establish a club of elite believers" (p. 71). Jesus was not a moralistic teacher or founder of a religion. Instead, he was a man of "metanoia" - unmistakeable, profound transformation, of shift in vision and discovery of a new world of meaning, of love and healing, enjoyment of the everyday and conviviality.
